30 five ACTIONS

“There is only one person that’s responsible for your life and that is YOU! Not your boss, not your spouse, not your parents, not your friends, not your clients, not the economy, not the weather. YOU!”

– Marc Reklau, 30 Days Change your habits Change your life

For those who don’t know, I’ve been down/off I’d say for the last month and a half. All appearances I act and look fine, but behind the scene I’m doing a lot of lying in bed with a pillow over my head hiding from life and craving peace and to just check out. I’m not about to analyze all that here, but I am going to discuss next steps.

For me, I eventually get to a point where I’m basically sick and tired of being sick and tired, and realize I need to pick myself up. No magic fairy dust is in sight. I’m so beyond “these are interesting trying times”. So I came up with this 30 five ACTIONS idea to share out here.

Here are my five actions that I’m committing to daily for the next 30 days:

  • Meditate
  • Eat better
  • Exercise

I purposely didn’t get specific on these. My goal is just to take action and make small changes that will improve my human experience. After each week, I’ll create a new post with an update on my progress. If you’d like to participate and come up with actions of your own, I’d love to hear about it in posts from you. The number 1 rule though is..there are no rules. Whatever works for you. Yours might be the 20 two actions. You get the point.

Peace my friends,

Dwight

  1. Hi Dwight, you have persuaded me. I’m going to come up with my 5. I’ve not been great either and quite frankly I’m sick of myself! I keep meaning to start my beginners yoga app and put in a regular timer for my mindfulness stuff but I haven’t. I will let you know my 5 things. Thanks for instigating

  2. That seems like a good plan, to take small steps to make it better for yourself. It is an approach that worked for me, even though I take baby steps with enough room for a set back.

  4. I can relate to feeling off. So lovely to read your post. I used to follow Wim Hoff! I still finish with cold showers… my dad used to do that too.

  6. awesome sauce Dwight! i will have to do some thinking..i believe there are 3 major things for me that i have failed at – eating healthier , regular exercise, and allowing social media to again become toxic in my life…i may add 1-2 more…rock on!!

  8. I want to participate! I love this idea! I am up at 5:15am every day and going until nighttime. I am on my feet for my job. However I NEED to get a work out regime going. I need muscle tone to alleviate these new aches and pains from work but also being in my late 40’s as well. I also NEED to do this to perk myself up and feel better about myself! So thank you, Dwight! I shall start an initial post soon and update weekly too! 😃😃😃

  9. Wow, these are amazing! You’ve definitely inspired me to try to come up with my own 5. I was feeling pretty active and generally in a good mood over the past month, but lately I seem to be in a bit of a funk too.

  12. I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling down Dwight – love the sound of your plan – all the things I try to keep regular in my life though often don’t manage them – except I hate cold showers! I have the bath as hot as I can possibly stand it so basically cook myself! Not sure if that’s a good thing or not! My yoga teacher says to focus on what you have managed rather than what you haven’t done as every bit helps – good luck and take care xxx💞💞💞
