Feeling really good the last few day. Been off work – HA : )
Thursday and Friday I spent both days mowing and doing landscape stuff like trimming trees and raking up pine needles. For some crazy reason, I dig days like that. Working hard outdoors, sweating, and then when you’re done looking at the finished product and feeling like you actually accomplished something. Take hot showers afterwards and chillllll. Love it! Today cleaned out my garage and then had a fantastic hike at one of my favorite trails called Lovell Gulch, which is literally 1.5 miles from me. Took no pictures, just enjoyed the hike and patted the trees with grateful vibes. I have no idea why the hell I’m sitting behind a computer all day for work when I love to get outdoors and involve some kind of physical activity. It is what it is at the moment, but I have a feeling it won’t be to to long before I get brave enough to bust a move.
The hike was just perfect, beautiful views of the mountains, and wild flowers and butterflies all just a jammin. It’s a pretty decent workout with some good hills for sure. As I was sweating and breathing like an old 53yr old, I just had the biggest grin on my face. It just reminded me how much I like to physically exert myself.
I’m just rambling for sure. Just wanted you to know I’m feeling good and hope you all are having a good weekend. If you’re not – get your asses outdoors!!! It may work for you?
All the best to you,
*Going STRONG on day 140 alcohol free!!!!
I’m totally spoiled. Less then 15 minutes from my house is Hayden Park in Divide, Colorado. Met up with a buddy for a walk around the loop here and then went out for dinner. Just a great time! Feeling fortunate and sending best wishes to all of you.
I was born in Massena, NY along the St.Lawerence river which borders Canada. (Living in Woodland Park, CO now). My mother was actually born in Canada. Anyway, I was a teen in the late 70s early 80s and listened to classic rock such as Zeppelin, Stones, The Who, and Pink Floyd and occasionally that new band AC/DC. I liked all kinds of music really, but CR was my thing.
Well as you know I’m AF and it’s been just over 2 weeks. I hear that alcohol takes approx. 7 to 10 days to fully leave your body, so at day 13 a very strange thing took over me. It’s Friday night and I’m home with my doggies, and all of sudden I have this urge out of nowhere to play that song “That’s the way (I like it)”. What the Fr!ck??? or what the Funk?? I go with it since my whole body and emotions have been going in all kinds of directions. I looked up who played it and found out it’s KC and The Sunshine Band and played it on YouTube. Next thing I know I’m clearing the living room floor and doing some very bad grovin and shaking my booty. I couldn’t get enough so I fired them up on iHeartRadio.
The songs just made me smile and have some fun from Get Down Tonight to Keep it Comin’ Love. I still haven’t given up my classics though, but an old dog can always learn new tricks, right?
I’m digging this new AF FUNK. Thanks for all your support.
It was a good day. Sam, my 1968 camper, came home from having his gas tank lined due to rust. Sucks getting old and oh how can I relate. The great Great Spirit is shining on him though with some love here. I just picked up Sam at the end of last year and he’s been in and out of the shop for various repairs, so today was a good bonding day. I started up in the cab and commenced cleaning. I swear Sam hasn’t seen any TLC and many moons. Tomorrow is a tear out day in Sam where I’m going to remove an old sink and fridge. There’s so much work to do but that’s why I bought Sam. I needed a hobby and when I saw him my heart smiled and I knew we were meant for each other. We’re both a bit older, slower, rustier, but still have great potential to shine again and head out on this highway of life! Feeling grateful! And so it is.
