We’re Close

If you’ve ever run a marathon you know how real it gets right near the end. You have to block out all the noise around and within. No matter how much you’ve prepared even then though you may very well hit The Wall. As much as you hate the fact your legs will no longer do the whole mind over matter thing and will just stop running. As life comes crashing down on you there is still one tool left. This is where you dig deeper then ever before and …

Keep moving. Keep moving. Even if you’re barely walking. The finish line is just right ahead of you my friends. Nobody or no thing will take this away from us.

It’s a victory we’ve earned,

Dwight 🥇

  1. i used to do 5K’s with a goal of doing half Marathons..i stopped because of increasing knee pain and breathing issues ( i was 10 years smoke free at that point but have had multiple surgeries related to my sinus issues).. but i can totally relate by associating it with my climbing days. Those tall face rocks seemed endless..there were points when i got what we called ‘sewing machine legs’..if you can imagine your legs shaking uncontrollably for periods of time whilst trying to hang on with your arms & fingers…Poetically speaking, these happened when one had to stop to get a better hold or refigure your route..so the irony in that isnt lost on me..”Don’t look down” was the Mantra repeated by many of us, because thats when you fall….

  2. You just again made my night!! I have pushed running and always thought no matter what mind over matter. However there is a time when my legs said, no. I remember it upsetting me. Thinking now that I’m older that now is the time to go slower and finish. I have been wanting to run again and I have an old treadmill. Weather is not running material here currently. I think I’ll get on that treadmill this weekend, but go slow, gathering my thoughts. You really are a 💎 Dwight!! Again, so much appreciated!!! 😍 I hope you are having an awesome night!! 🙌🏻
