The Peace Bench

Proof.

At 1.9 miles up the Jack’s Peak Trail in New Mexico, I came across a simple bench. Proof that there are other souls out here who treasure this beautiful world. Someone took the time and effort to build a place where a stranger could sit, rest, and take it all in.

There was still another 2.5 miles to reach the summit, but the bench reminded me of something important.

I thought of everyone who might of sat here. So many of us shared this same sense of peace. Summits will come and go, but it’s the beauty we share along the way that unites us.

Thank you to whoever built this bench.
