Our good work.

“Out of the crooked timber of humanity, no straight thing was ever made.”
-Immanuel Kant
This is a great reminder for me that my desires, ego, fears, flaws, and self-interest bend my path—this is simply being human. Knowing this helps me face my weaknesses honestly and trust that character is built in the struggle against them—the daily choice to notice, to pause, and to respond a little better than I did before.
We’re not meant to become straight timber—we keep shaping crooked wood as best we can.
This is our good work.
-Dwight
