Less is Now 30 day Challenge (Week 2)

Check out my first minimalism post if you haven’t already for a little context.

Guidelines – sell, donate

Day 1 – get rid of 1 item

Day 2 – get rid of 2 items

Day 3 – get rid of 3 items

And so on for 30 days

After 30 days create a blog post on your experience with some of the items you got rid of and how you now feel. Even if you can only get rid of 1 item per day, then please still partake. Start anytime, just has to be 30 consecutive days.

Here’s week two – total of 77 items

Day 8: winter boot/pants cover, coffees mug, plastic silverware, 3 can food items, a stand, and a doggie coat
Day 9: Grounding pad, old baking soda, oatmeal, 2 tea, coffee filter, lid, onion mix, and noodle mix
Day 10: TV, mop, dirty yucky container, pants, 2 pet bowls, 2 jackets, prayer seat, air freshener
Day 11: 2 pants, motorcycle helmet cover, T-shirt, 2 shorts, and 5 boxers (tossing🤪)
Day 12: 12 pairs of socks
Day 13: 13 items from my junk drawer
Day 14: 14 items more from junk drawer

Week 2 complete. Still have more areas in my house prior to heading out to the garage. So as I’m removing items I’m organizing a bit along the way. Feeling good, feeling lighter.

Take it easy,

  1. I really like this idea Dwight but I wouldn’t know where to start! I occasionally clear out a cupboard and it does feel good but I also have a thing about rubbish and waste so I find myself thinking – I might use that one day and visualising landfill so back in the cupboard it goes! 💞💞

    • I hear you. I’ve been able to donate probably 98% so far, and I figure that 2% is going to end up in trash anyway. Either I do it now or my kids end up doing it after I’m gone. I definitely makes you rethink buying/bringing things into your home.
