Feeling good

Hanging out front on my rocking chair in shorts, t-shirt, barefoot, and sipping water. There’s a nice cool breeze, sun is working on going down, and everything is green from all the rain. The Wong Janice is playing in the background as a dog barks and cars drive by. I yell hi to my neighbor who’s out weeding, and she yells back my yard looks good from mowing it today. I feel light, fit, and peaceful.

I’ve been sober now 3 year, 5 months, and 12 days after abusing alcohol for 40 years. So grateful for my sobriety and to be able to sit here at age 56 and take life all in without having to escape into the fog.

Hope you all are having a wonderful summer!

  5. That yard is looking very good! Ours is not so good looking thanks to our drought but oh well Mother Nature is doing her thing. I’m hand watering my kale and chili plants anyway!

  6. Sobriety is wonderful. I am so glad you made it and to call you friend. Its been a long journey, hasnt it? I often think back to when i had so many recovery friends on here. Most have just stopped blogging ( which sucks) . Even now, i still need to read about successes and failures- all of that helps when i think about the few times in back slid. You’ve done awesome!I need to write a sobriety post soon. I’ve neglected that. Hugs!
