Heading back to Wonderland in Retirement

From Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland:

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?” asked Alice.

“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.

“I don’t much care where—” said Alice.

“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat.

Approximately 115 days till retirement

I’m ready to go back to Wonderland. Ready to not know exactly where I’m going, or what lies around the corner.

For years now, life’s held a steady rhythm — so much sameness, so many quiet “I’m good”s. I’m grateful for all I have and for the self-work that’s carried me here, but lately I find myself craving a little discomfort. Maybe it’s because I know that in those strange and uncertain spaces, growth always finds a way to take root.

I’m ready to rediscover the magic of getting lost again.
