I thought today may be a great time to introduce Minimalism into my blog. Minimalism found me in 2015. Literally. I didn’t go looking for it, but after a divorce from a marriage of 16 years, being $35,500 debt, and being at the lowest of lows – I was forced to relook at my life. More on that on post 2. For now watch these two movies or go research this lifestyle if your soul is saying there is more to life then just things. I realize you may not have Netflix, but possibly you have a friend who might?

They’ve built a movement out of minimalism. Longtime friends Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus share how it’s never too late to start over with less, and why simplifying can lead us to more fulfilling lives.
After watching these, if you’re up to take the Less Is Now 30 day challenge – let me know in the comments. Start whenever feels right for you.
Day 1 – get rid of 1 item
Day 2 – get rid of 2 items
Day 3 – get rid of 3 items
And so on for 30 days
After 30 days create a blog post on your experience with some of the items you got rid of and how you now feel. Even if you can only get rid of 1 item per day, then please partake.

I cannot stand clutter and I live in a very small house so it takes very little for it to feel cluttered. I try to keep it at a minimum by never buying something new without throwing out something old. I would love to try the thirty day challenge. BTW – Does it have to be my stuff? 🙄

Dwight, I needed this so thank you. Very timely and relative post to me. While I sometimes fear letting go of things because I feel like they hold memories for me, I think it’s time…I will try to watch the movie on Netflix (kids have it so I’ll try to use their password) and begin….I may need a hand to hold occasionally if you don’t mind helping. Please keep the posts coming!

I’ve been a minimalist since 2017 and it seriously has been life changing. i wouldn’t consider myself an extremist of it but I have let go of so many unnecessary things and i’m happier for it.

Just caught up on this, it’s really got me thinking. I had an under the bed clear out this weekend and listed everything on a zero waste group. Felt so much better. Going to review other areas too now ♡
