Sobriety books I read when I started my journey

I’m a huge reader, especially on self help, and noticed recently all the books I read on getting sober. It was definitely a bit of a shock as they kept coming up as I scrolled through my Kindle app. 4.5 years ago, after abusing alcohol for 40 years as a binge drinker I quit. NOT JUST LIKE THAT. I want to be clear I had numerous attempts to quit prior to that. Each time I learned a bit more, but it wasn’t until I got completely focused that it finally clicked.

On February 16, 2019, I started my sober journey and I immersed my mind into learning how others stopped drinking alcohol and started living a healthier lifestyle. I counted up the number of books that I read during that early period and the number was 10. Listed below is the order of the books I read from last to first. You’ll notice the first few weeks were intense. It was definitely a key to my success. The dates are when I purchased them. Each one helped me keep focused and gleam new insights and pathways.

  1. great list Dwight..i read a few of those. I wish i had more resources in my first 6 months. It seemed hard for me to find just what i needed so hopefully this list finds its way to those in need. Also helpful would be a list of films or documentaries. I believe i did write a short blog about the ones i watched way back when. There were times i just couldn’t focus to read..hugs and ty from the recovery den:)
