Going for it – The Bitch is Back (Week 38)

YEP. SHE’S BACK! As my gut and face kept getting bigger and bigger, I relented and bought another scale.

Week 38 of 52

The best way to describe Week 38 of my β€œGoing for it series” is that I’m OFF THE RAILS. Quite honestly I’ve been sloppy and half-assing these last several weeks as the record shows. I have no excuses other then laziness and lack of focus and commitment. Let it slide for today… let it slide for today, turns into many days and then weeks. I’m gobbling down food stressfully and letting dust collect on my weights.

Good intentions don’t do shit unless they are followed up with good actions. So at week 38, I’m putting this train back on the track. As I said above, I noticed when I’m stressed from work I tend to graze in the kitchen. I’m picking up on that theme and that’s good. Going to work on cutting down on the snacking and drink more water. Also, I’m going to get back to strength training 4 days a week and tell the excuses to frick off.

My learning to cook has been consistent with me cooking two new meals a week. It’s interesting I’m actually picking up on how one meal tasted great one time, and then the next time I cook that exact same meal it’s off. Realizing I sometimes over cook the veggies which definitely change up the flavor. Same with the meat. Not a chef by any means, but I can follow a recipe and am definitely getting better.

The train is starting back up and I’m slowly moving forward.

  1. Good for you Dwight to get back on track. I’ve noticed similar experiences by cooking the same meal twice and they turn out completely different. I’ve noticed it makes a difference with how much I slow down and put care into the meal. The mood I’m in seems to affect the outcome.

    1. That’s definitely insightful, Barb. I never thought of that before, but definitely some nights just rushing through the process to be β€œdone”. Thanks😊

  2. wowza..yeah, its soooo easy to get off track.i had one or two weeks ( since june) where i saw myself slipping but fortunately the ‘guilt monster’ in me is so strong i was able to get right back to it. This month has been a struggle but i have only missed 2 work outs so far. I find it easier to make sure i get 4 gym days by allowing myself to switch around those days as needed. Having a coach one of those days each week is a big help, but also i have zero social life and most of my free time is spent rehabbing …lol (the pain actually keeps me in check). You are still doing great and good that you picked up on the pattern there..Rock this joint! and Keep on Keepin on!

  8. You made me laugh, Dwight. I think this is a hard time to lose weight because our bodies seem to crave high-calorie food in order to stay warm (and somewhere deep inside, to get ready to hibernate, at least a little). I find that trying to stay active is always a good goal, and that way I hope not to pack on the extra calories I’m ingesting. 😊
    Good luck!

  10. No progress is progressive all the time Dwight. Sometimes you gotta slide back a bit so you can take a running start at the next hill. πŸ˜‚ In the last few weeks, I have slid back to September. 😏
